Alone together
ALONE, TOGETHER is a collection of comics that gather the stories of 8 Afro-descendant artists based in Paris, who each work with distinct mediums. Engy Saint-Ange brings together Calixte Bernard, Lilian Akoto, Christopher Green, Dimitri Zegboro, Lossapardo, Pharaoh Kakudji and Nicolas Farade. Here, they present pieces of a world freed from the shackles that have been reducing the reality of black people to archetypes. In this Connivence editions first volume, these authors-illustrators create images from the playground of their imaginations.
They crystallize emotions and atmospheres for the keen of it,
a catharsis, and allow an echo, a mutual understanding. This collective project proposes to explore the inner confusion, tender anxieties or melancholic joys. It is a tool of nuanced projections. Thus, we invent, get closer, we reinvent ourselves.
